A long, long weekend

Well, Thanksgiving was great and a lot of fun. I got to see Grandma Sue and Grandpa John on their new iSight and got Uncle Jeff, Jen and Great Grandma Kate as a bonus! Scout loved visiting with Uncle Jeff. Also, as you can see by the little movie, Uncle John and Aunt Marjon came over to celebrate. I think that they were most excited about dessert (especially Aunt Marjon). Mom made homemade ice cream and an apple pie and a chocolate carmel hazelnut tart. Mom says that tart was like a cookie and candy bar combined but I don't really know what that means. I only get breast milk, cereal and fruit. Today my favorite is banana with lots of brown spots but Mom's quickie homemade apple sauce is pretty yummy too. I've only had Fuji applesauce but Mom promises me some Gala sauce soon and maybe some Red Delicious soon. I licked Daddy's Granny Smith and I'm not sure I want those yet!

The day after Thanksgiving was NOT as fun. I went to go see Dr. Jim. He said that I'm doing well which is nice. I was 15.2 pounds and 27.5 inches! Dr. Jim says that I'm tall. Mom says, "No kidding!" I am a lot longer than her top half (uh, torso?). We'll try to add a photo soon to show everyone. So, what's not fun about that? Well, I got shots too! The shots make me feel icky. I was already crabby because my teeth are trying to come through my gums and my new foods make my tummy and the rest of my digesting equipment hurt and then the shots! I had to cuddle with Mom almost all Friday and then I keep waking up screaming. Ugh. I think I'm starting to feel better but I'm really going to crawl away from the shots on my next visit. Watch out!

Nap time here. Hugs and kisses to everyone.

Bedtime!

Hey everyone....

I wanted to post tonight but I'm tired and cranky. Mom put up photos from my first meal (look before all those hat photos - they're in chronological order) and my first snow from my first trip up Larch Mountain. Anyway, you know where to look - my gallery!

Oh, don't forget to check out my second breakfast movie Dad made (below).

Sorry I don't have more time to write.

Happy Turkey Day!

Ivo's hat and I've got a cat (and a dog)

What's new? As you can see, Mom finally finished Ivo's hat. It's too big for me but Ivo has a big head. I loved helping her with it. I liked to hold and taste the yarn. Don't worry, Ivo, she washed it!

Last week was pretty fun - I napped in my stroller while Mom and Scout went for a long run. It was so fun that I asked Mom to get me a new cozy outfit so we can keep doing it.

I've also been going to the climbing gym so Mom can get her monkey-type exercise. We went last Friday and the kids were out of school so there were lots of big boys for me to watch. They're funny. Sometimes I just had to laugh out loud as they (Mom says "literally") climbed the walls. Mr. Kylo held me up so I could feel what the wall was like. Some of the holds are smooth and lots of them are rough and scratchy. Ms. Lisa was there too and we cuddled and chatted. It was nice.

Another day last week I hung out with Dad during his lunch break. We went to the park and he showed me the differences between conifers. I got to feel pine needles and the cedar boughs. We even stood under (more like in it!!) a cedar tree. It was so neat. I love learning about trees. Sometimes I get so excited I just rip the leaves off - Dad's also trying to teach me how to be gentle.

Wow. It's been so long since I've updated everyone on the new things I'm learning - I don't know where to start! Well, did you know that we have these things called "pets"? We do! We have a cat and a dog. I didn't even know until a couple of weeks ago. Our cat, Tux, is black and cuddly and really soft. He likes to lounge around with me and Mom. He lets me stroke his fur and grab hunks of it and pull really hard. He is so gentle and doesn't mind it. (Okay, once in a while he yells at me and runs away.) Sometimes he's really smelly - I know he's around even when I don't see him.

Speaking of smelly, we also have a dog named Scout. I'm guessing you knew about him. He tells me that he's kind of famous and that Mom and Dad let him write on my blog sometimes. Anyway, Scout is funny. I laugh everytime I see him....it's really funny when Dad throws something and Scout runs back with it. Scout's good at picking up food that falls and he sometimes helps clean up when I spit up. Mom thinks this is gross and really funny - as you can see.

(Edited to say: I guess I noticed my pets about a month ago because I wrote about it but I am really much more interested in them now. I didn't really notice Scout so much until about 2 weeks ago. Anyway, we've been having so much fun that I couldn't help writing about them again!!)

There are more photos in the gallery. Mom took hundreds last week and will try to post more soon!
